Conservatory Decoration Sam is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of painting and decorating internally and externally. He has beautifully decorated a very neglected and tired-looking conservatory. This was a fiddly job with plenty of tricky edges but Sam meticulously prepared the space, restored some interior doors and skilfully painted the woodwork and walls, resulting in an exceptional finish. The transformation is stunning and has given the room a new lease of life. Sam is totally reliable, always helpful and never fails to go the extra mile. External painting of sash windows Sam did a great job with the external painting of 14 sash windows. We were a little nervous having them painted for the first time since they were installed wanting to ensure they were done well, but by choosing Sam we need not have worried. Sam's work was first class and we are very happy with the end result. We would happily recommentd Sam.

Back of the house Re-paint and Repair Had the back of the house re-painted in July. Had'nt been done for a while and a lot more preparation and work was needed than originally thought on several window frames (not visible) that unchecked would have caused real problems. Sam did an amazing job repairing them before any painting took place - all finished to a high standard as was the rest of the house. It looks great!
Sam's enthusiasm for his job is so evident in his work. His extensive knowlege about older houses and materials was invaluable.

Decorating a bedroom This is the third time we have used Sam and Ian’s services. They painted a bedroom which included wallpapering a feature wall. The quality of work is meticulous and I am really difficult to please. Their communication is great and I would have no hesitation to recommend them and will definitely be using them again.

Decoration of hall and six internal doors Sam and Ian have made a wonderful job of our hallway. We have used Sam before and he takes his time and is meticulous in his work. We had one wall papered and unfortunately the paper was really difficult to work with. He repapered part of the wall again until it was up to his high standard. He is punctual, hardworking and communicates well. I have no hesitation in recommending Sam and will definitely be using his services again.

The finish throughout is perfect and Sam took great care to make sure that everything was completed to a very high standard and in a timely manner. Bedroom mould treated Great work carried out by SYM Decorating specialists. Sams work is 2nd to none he goes above and beyond to make sure he leaves no mess about using a dustless sander to make sure the walls are all Preped so no issues down the the line. And making sure all flooring is covered. We got in touch as mould kept coming back and mould cleaner spray was not working he suggested we use anti mould solution that can be added into any paint and this has stopped the mould coming back.

Wallpapering bedroom... I'd had one initial quote from another decorator which I felt was extremely excessive (with an 8 week wait) so I was so pleased when I found Sam and what I felt was a sensible and fair quotation.

Wallpapering of stairwell and landing We asked Sam to complete a wall papering job that was too technical for us, around a stairwell, balustrades etc. And with a challenging repeat pattern. And during a heat wave. As the other reviews consistently say, he executed this to a very high standard, was punctual, courteous and very tidy. He also passed back to us savings he achieved on materials and came in below budget. Would not hesitate to recommend and will use again ourselves if and when.

External painting to house After carrying out an excellent job on my internal painting in June, I asked Sam and his colleague Ian to return to do the external paintwork. Once again Sam performed a great job in rectifying the badly peeling external paintwork and provided a lovely finish to the all the masonry and the woodwork under the gutters. Painting new extension We have used Sam on a number of occasions previously and was always very happy with his work. So it was a given that we would use him for our new extension. Sam's work is excellent and we would definitely recommend him to our friends and family.

Exterior painting and siliconing Sam found the time whilst we had scaffolding in place to prepare, paint and silicone around new windows on the front of our house. Wooden windows repair and re-painting Sam has done an amazing job with our wooden windows. To start with, the windows were in a horrific state with great amount of rot and weakened wood. Sam worked tiredlessly to remove all the rot, properly repair it with resin and then do several layers of paint. The windows look spotless now and we could not be more happy! Exterior walls and windows painted I can 100% recommend Sam as a fantastic decorator who has a reputation for great work around the local area and is becoming highly sort after. A Conservatory extension This must be about the 5th time we have used “Sam’s your Man”. We first got Sam off Checkatrade in June 2018 to decorate and wallpaper our small bedroom. Since then over the last 2 years we have had Sam do our Lounge full re-decorated, bedroom ceilings re=painted, outside paint work done and now the decorating in the new Conservatory extension. We have always found Sam’s work to be of a very good standard with a quality finish to the work he has done. Removed wood chip, lined and painted the walls applied vinyl flooring I am so pleased with Sam's work. Complete redecoration of lounge. The key to a good job is the preparation. Sam stripped the old wallpaper and patched the walls of our 1930s house. He then lined the walls and re-papered the whole room with a heavy vinyl paper, not an easy job with a chimney breast and several external corners to negotiate. Ceiling and coving were repaired as necessary, and several coats of brilliant white paint were applied. Doors, skirting and radiator were sanded and painted. Overall, an immaculate job carried out by a decorator who takes great pride in his work. We have now asked Sam to do the same for our dining room.

Re-paint porch. I needed my porch re-painted. It hadn't been done for 15 years and Sam had to burn off all of the old paint and then re-paint it. He worked so hard and the result is stunning. I am so pleased with it. It has attracted very positive comments from anybody who has seen it. Sam was exceptionally clean and tidy and took a real pride in his work. Exterior painting We have a rather quirky old property with extensive and intricate woodwork. We were looking for a tradesman that put quality first. Sam was excellent - he spent August with us, arrived on time, worked hard all day and was always pleasant. A young man who takes his business seriously. Importantly for me he took the time to do proper preparation and produced an excellent finish.
